We are looking for an experienced Sales and Marketing individual to contribute and assist in the management and implementation of the annual sales and marketing strategy and activities for one of Ireland's’ top hotels.

Responsible for assisting the DOSM in the targeting, focusing and co-ordination of the Sales & Marketing and Events Teams’ activities to maximise on the 5-star opportunities that exist in all markets, thereby achieving budgeted revenues.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

To assist with the developing and implementing of sales strategies for growth by:

  • Develop, implement and monitor annual sales and marketing plans for each hotel.

  • Key account manage own portfolio of accounts in MICE, DMCs and agents in domestic and global markets.

  • Represent the hotel at international shows, trade events and sales trips in a highly professional manner.

  • Identify, research and secure appointments with new accounts and agents both nationally and internationally.

  • Seek to maximise all revenue opportunities from existing accounts through strategic planning and effective account management.

  • Agreeing and monitoring departmental sales action plans.

  • Identify and develop new business.

  • Participating and supporting hotel Sales teams with customer visits, site inspections and familiarization trips.

  • Assist in the completion of regular SWOT analysis on competitor hotels identifying market threats, pressures and opportunities, ensuring activities reflect these, and advising senior management of this market information.

  • Manage and undertake international and national key account activities including trade shows, networking events, workshops, presentations and sales missions.

  • Promote and represent the hotel professionally and effectively in the domestic and overseas markets through a range of B2B and B2C events including tradeshows, workshops and FAM trips.

  • Manage sales and marketing projects as per business requirements.

  • Provide feedback to the Director of Sales & Marketing and General Manager on market trends and conditions.

  • Assist in the monitoring of team results and adjust activities to ensure objectives and targets are reached.

  • To assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of sales and marketing plans for all the various Food and Beverage outlets.

  • Understand and implement elements of the hotel’s yield management strategies for both Meeting and Events and Group Rooms, as part of the sales process.

  • Cross selling of all sister properties within the Group

People and Organisation

To assist with developing a high-performing Sales & Marketing team to meet the current and future challenges of the business by:

  • Assisting the Human Resources Department and the Director of Sales & Marketing in recruiting and selecting suitable team members with potential for the business.

  • Coaching and developing the hotel Sales & Marketing team through training and development activities for current and future roles.

  • Provide leadership and counselling to the sales and meeting and events teams on appropriate selling techniques.

  • Ensuring training successfully contributes to the business through planning, action and evaluation.

  • Ensuring compliance with all personnel practices and procedures.

  • Getting members of the team to work co-operatively with others.

Process and Systems

To assist in establishing and managing processes, which monitor, control and regulate activities by:

  • Managing the integration of information technology initiatives into the Sales & Marketing Department.

  • Using technology to enhance management information.

  • Implementing best practices within the Sales & Marketing Department.

  • Ensuring all current measurement processes are in place.

  • Use of to record all sales and marketing activity and results.

  • Participate in meetings as required.


To assist with securing brand identity in all markets by:

  • Adherence to and promotion of the Westin brand at all times.

  • Marketing Plan –assist with the design and implementation of online and offline marketing initiatives and activities to support each hotels revenue objectives and track return on investment.
